Established in early August this year, two young, aspiring designers come together to work hand in hand in designing apparels. Together, Duffy and Eddie made up Moricco and Mode respectively, bringing two different themes. While Mode (Masters of de Elements) focuses on nature, Moricco’s designs were inspired from almost anything and everything. In creating Mode’s designs, Eddie played around with colours and lines and also nature inspired themes like leaves, fire and water. While designing takes a week, Eddie would usually sketch them first before doing any editing or factorizing of the graphics on the computer, before sending it to printing.
Creating up a blog, these two talented boys intend to showcase their artwork through printings on apparel and at the same time, market their original products here in Singapore. When asked about how exactly they will do it, 23-year-old Duffy explains, “We have created a flyer so as to create awareness of what Moriccomode is all about. Our blog showcases the many designs that both me and Eddie have created and we hope that our creativity will attract people in buying these apparels. Although our objectives are not solely to make money, we just want to share our interest with the rest and show our creativity to the people out there”.

The idea of coming together to create this one branding is from their inspiration from the Japanese, whom they describe as the people who “dare to wear”. They fancy the Japanese’s dress sense because of their unique and creativity through fashion wear.
Other than just t-shirts, Duffy and Eddie design on jeans as well. Duffy, who has similar experience before, claimed that the simplest design is always the best choice. He also added that criticism is always “the enemy of fashion” and that both he and Eddie welcome feedbacks for their design. There will be a few design options to choose from for a customer who would like customization on their apparels.
Moriccomode is having their very first launch towards the end of January next year, where promotions are available on their past designs. Three years from now, Moriccomode targets to have their label registered, and are planning on opening up their own local shop with their products.
For those interested in purchasing any of Moriccomode’s apparels, they have to e-mail their orders to
quikboy_adli89@hotmail.com and make a down payment of half the price of the total amount for confirmation. Once confirmed and once the apparels are ready for collection, customers will meet up with the designers either at their preferred place or the designer’s preferred place.
